Perhaps the ultimate indulgence for the female form is a boudoir-inspired wardrobe. Lace and frills have always been a mainstay in the clothing line of Bianca Nygård. Women’s clothing, if it must err, should err on the feminine side after all.

And in the recently concluded 2010 Oscars award, it was the touch of romantic that made the overriding trend on the red carpet. Certainly, the A-list loved the multi-tiered, frilly, fragile look. So how do we describe the romantic dress? The classic look either had slightly raised or low waistlines. The sleeves had a flirtatious function, emphasizing the female’s slim arm and long neck, as demonstrated perfectly in the Bianca Nygård women’s clothing.

The skirts were also absolutely crucial to the entire effect. While the first romantic-era skirts had to be gored into panels to puff out, today’s skirts are slimmer. The skirt should emphasize the length of the lower body, gracefully billowing into soft pleats, tiers, or frills.

Lace, frills, silk and velvet – all mainstays of the romantic dress – are some of the most delicate and expensive textiles. Any female form is in full bloom in these boudoir-inspired fabrics. Indeed, the romantic look is back, giving a whiff of dreams to the female silhouette.
